Gay G. Gunn (aka GiGi Gunn), a native of Washington, D.C., began writing when she could not find books that celebrated the black women
and men she knew. Her genre is the positive portrayal of African-American life. Three of her novels, Nowhere to Run, Everlastin’
Love and Pride and Joi, have been required reading in English, American History and African-American Literature by schools and universities
from Boca Raton, Florida to Covina California. Her other books include Cajun Moon, Never Been to Me, Rainbow’s End, Living Inside
Your Love, and her very first title, Dotted Swiss and Gingham.
The author returned to the African-American historical genre
with a trilogy of the Culhane family from the shores of Africa to America. One Day. Someday. Soon… Book I, Might Could
Be, Book II, nominated for the NAACP Image Award, and her latest, May We All, Book III; all currently available.
Gay G. Gunn
creates strong yet flawed women who defy the odds and refuse to be defined by others. “Women like us all ~ complicated and multi-dimensional,
who do the best we can AND the men who deserve us.”
The author’s novels are hallmarked by richly textured writing, visual imagery,
complex character development with poignant plots and a seamless blend of fact and fiction which produce page-turning intrigue, evoking
all human emotions from readers.
The author resides in the DMV (Metropolitan Washington, D.C.) where she is working on her twelfth
literary project.
